Here in Scotland the season has changed, and the weather hasn’t adjusted to the season. Meanwhile, I’ve launched my first collection of originals now available via my website.

It’s easy to see the variation in weather from the pieces- some feeling light and airy whilst others are inspired by dreich days with splutters of rain. My mark making is intuitive and relies heavily on memory and imagination combined. Working this way, my goal is to convey the awed experience of taking in a mountainous scene.

All works are mixed media including a variety of pastel, ink and pencil. This allows me to move fluid inks with my hands across the page, feeling a physical connection to the work. I love to contrast this with precise outlines.
The view is both exposed and shrouded, mimicking the experience of gazing at a vast landscape but only capturing a fraction of the detail.
This series was created by someone who deeply feels a connection to the natural world and craves the peace and contemplation that being in the landscape provides. `I hope it brings you just as much joy and a small piece of nature for your home, wherever that may be.
