The fear of something new. We’ve all felt it, though I guess some people are better at it than others.
The scary thing I’ve done is launch a Patreon. That might not seem so scary to you. If that doesn’t seem scary to you then, I might guess you’re in the minority. Launching something new is a leap into the unknown- which is supposedly a pretty common fear.

It’s been on my mind for a while, on my to do list, in my thoughts. The amount of videos and photos I’ve saved with the intention of sharing, the ideas piling up. Ultimately the amount of happiness I get from creating in nature is definitely too great not to share. It’s going to be an intimate space where we can discuss our shared love of creating and nature and I cannot wait. They’ll be behind the scenes updates, sketchbook flip throughs and drawing sessions.

I want to include mindful moments in my videos too, the noticing, the savouring. Not all grand views but the tiny things that ground you in a landscape - the texture of the bark, the moss, the movement of the water. It’s really important to me, to pass on that awe. Not only is it fundamental to my art, it’s fundamental to my wellbeing and how I interact with the world.

So now my brain is a constant buzz of ideas. They’re all scrambled in a list which I will have to organise and neatly stack up. Ideas for different types of videos and virtual drawing trips. I aim to share my location drawing trips like we’re all off adventuring together. And maybe even one day we will be.

Including more mindfullness is a great idea especially in a world where everything goes so fast
